317 was once the hamlet center, with the post office and general store, a hardware-and-paint store, and stabled horses in what is now a residence on Bonnieview. Oldtimes told this author that there was once a milk bottling building in what is now a back yard. In the 1930's 317 became a vegetable store; after that, 'Frieda's' or 'the old liquor store.' It is now home to Pine Hill Notes.
